In Captain Data, a user can either access the platform directly or be an external user without workspace access—ideal for agencies and clients. This guide explains how to manage users effectively within your workspace.

Navigate to My Account > Users to see all workspace users (only accessible to workspace owners).
User Roles & Permissions
1. Owner
Full access to the platform.
Manage users (add, delete, edit, and promote users to owners).
Access billing and subscription settings.
Select connected accounts for workflows.
2. Standard User
Basic rights within the platform.
Cannot access billing and subscription settings.
Ideal for marketing and sales team members.
3. External User
Cannot access the platform.
Can connect accounts using shared links.
Suitable for clients or partners who only need account connections.
Adding a User to Your Workspace
To add a new user:
Go to My Account > Users
Click + New User (top-right button)
A window will appear, if your plan supports it, enter the user details carefully.
When adding an email, a checkbox appears:
Tick "Invite user to workspace" if they should have platform access.
If left unchecked, the user remains external.
Managing Users
Upgrading External Users to Full Access
To grant an external user access:
Go to My Account > Users
Click Actions > Invite to Workspace next to their name.
Promoting a User to Owner
Navigate to My Account > Users
Find the user and click Actions > Promote to Owner.
Deleting a User
Navigate to My Account > Users
Click Actions > Delete User
Confirm deletion.
Purchasing Additional Users
To add more users:
Click Buy More Users
Confirm your subscription.
If your workspace has add-on users, you’ll see more options under Buy More Users.

The country selected for a user must match their social media login location to ensure proper proxy allocation.
